Hello, traveler.

Stay awhile and listen. Have you ever heard the tale of The Brotherhood of the Paradigm? Let me tell it.

The Brotherhood was formed by the archbrother Learyt in the wake of the Deep Exile. He summoned mages from the mystical clans of the East and asked them to join him in the battle against the three Primordial Colossi who were threatening to annihilate the very fabric of our Realm. The mages joined Learyt and dedicated their lives to defeat Azrael, Eredin and Gael.

When they began their hunt for the Colossi, the Paradigm quickly realized they would need an artifact of extraordinary power, if they were to stand any chance. Four of their most powerful members, led by the now infamous Lat Ashar, traveled to the Other Realm where they spent 21 days forging an artifact. They hammered and chanted without a rest, almost losing their minds in the process from the constant flow of magic energy. In the end they had created The Cube. A powerful artifact that would tip the scales in their favor and give them hope of winning. But they were unaware that the dark spell used to forge The Cube had imbued it with a nefarious soul of its own.

For a long time, the Brotherhood used The Cube as they waged battle after battle against the Primordial Colossi. At first, it was working as they had hoped. The Cube was linked to the transmutational energy of the Fractals, allowing the mages to imbue their weapons with pure untamed force. This gave them the edge they needed and they eventually managed to defeat all three of the Primordials. But the cost of that victory was immense, for they didn't know that whenever they would kill a Colossi, a part of its evil heart would get sucked in and absorbed by the artifact.

By the time they realized, The Cube had already consumed the hearts of Azrael, Eredin and Gael. It used their combined energy to influence the mind of Lat Ashar and corrupted him to do its bidding. Shortly after, he turned against his brothers slaughtering almost all of them and declaring his intent to vanquish all life from the Realm.

The few who managed to escape regrouped at Mount Rearat and decided to mount a last desperate (and surely suicidal) attack against Lat Ashar. We don't know how exactly, but against overwhelming odds their attack succeeded. Who knows, maybe Fate smiled on them that day. Fearing that destroying the physical body of their corrupted brother wouldn't be enough from stopping him, the Paradigm banished his incorporeal soul to the Vale Plane, damning him to an eternity of pain.

The Cube they deemed too dangerous for anyone to ever use so they hid it deep below the Far Oasis in the Halls of the Dead. At least according to the legends.

Traveler, I have reason to believe that The Cube had one more ability of which the archbrothers were unaware. I believe that if you put the right items in it, it can serve as a gateway to a secret world filled with unimaginable treasure. I have spent many years trying to find it, but alas I have failed and now I've grown too old to continue my search.

What say you, Traveler? Do you want to help me find this mystical artifact and perhaps, just perhaps, be the first to discover a brand new world?
